With novice and championship sections in Modern, Jazz, Showdance, Tap, Ballet and Acrobatics there really is something for everyone! From the younger dancers, to the old, the solos to the big groups, show us what you’ve got at The Next Level Of Dance with The Red Convention.

Meet The Team

Vanessa-Jayne Bennett

AIDT Administrator, Board Member and Examiner. Vanessa qualified as a RAD Ballet teacher and AIDT Modern, Tap and Urban teacher and ran her own studio for more than 30 years, successfully entering dancers for examinations, local, national and international competitions. Vanessa is also an International Examiner, Judge and Choreographer. Her goal is to make every dancer and teacher the best they can be.

Allan Botha

Allan Botha (SHABLAM Dance Academy Director) is a Dancer, Choreographer and All-round Entertainer from Johannesburg. He has worked as a dancer and choreographer for many of South Africa’s top recording artists and companies and has also appeared in a number of theatre shows. Allan is well travelled and has competed and worked abroad in various countries including Germany, Poland, Croatia and the Seychelles. He is also a qualified SADTA Modern & Jazz Pre-Associate that teaches all styles of dance.

Jean-Jacques Le Roux

Jean-Jacques started dancing at the age of 12 and went on to represent South Africa in the SA Dance Team from the age of 15. He has danced competitively in Slovenia, Germany and Portugal for many years, claiming the title of World Champion in 2011. He was part of the Tap Talk Rhythm Company (later the Foot Musicians) which performed at the Grahamstown Arts Festival several times as well as in their own original performances. Jean-Jacques now teaches open tap classes and tap choreography, training and choreographing for some of South Africa’s best Tap dancers.

One form needs to be completed per DANCE ITEM that is entered. (Duos, Trios, Small Groups, Formations and Productions require only one form.)
